Can you call in sick at Walgreens?

When it comes to taking time off for illness, Walgreens is one of the most accommodating employers. In fact, the pharmacy chain is one of the few that allows employees to call in sick without needing a doctor’s note.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind before hitting the sick-day button.

First and foremost, you should make sure that you are actually sick. Calling in sick because you don’t feel well is not an acceptable excuse.

If you don’t have a doctor’s note, you may be fired.

Secondly, make sure that you are taking the necessary steps to ensure that you will be able to return to work. If you have a cold or the flu, for example, make sure to take the necessary medications to prevent further illness.

And, lastly, be honest with your boss about why you are taking the time off. If you can explain your illness in a responsible way, you may be able to get approval to stay home.
