How do I know if my USPS package is insured?

When you receive a USPS package, the shipping label will list the insurance amount. If the cost of the insurance is more than the cost of the package, the package is insured.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, but for the most part, if the shipping label says the package is insured, it is. The only way to be sure is to check the package’s weight and see if the weight is greater than the insurance amount.
