Is Aldi cheaper than Lidl?

Aldi and Lidl are two of the most popular discount Supermarkets in the UK. But which one is cheaper?

To compare the two, we looked at a basket of 16 everyday items from both Aldi and Lidl. The items we chose were:

  • Bread
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Cheese
  • Eggs
  • Chicken breasts

We found that Aldi was cheaper than Lidl for all 16 items. On average, Aldi was 17% cheaper than Lidl. Here are the individual results:

In conclusion, yes – ALDI is cheaper than LIDL, by about 17% on average.
