Is Lowe’s closing stores in 2020?

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt daily life and force businesses to adapt, one question on everyone’s mind is which companies will be forced to close their doors for good.

One company that has been hit hard by the pandemic is Lowe’s. The home improvement retailer has already announced that it will be closing 51 underperforming stores in the U.S. and Canada. While this is a small fraction of Lowe’s 2,200 stores worldwide, it’s still a significant number of closings.

Lowe’s isn’t the only retailer struggling during the pandemic. J.C. Penney, Macy’s, and Nordstrom are just a few of the other big names that have been forced to close stores due to declining sales.

It’s still too early to say definitively whether or not Lowe’s will close more stores in 2020, but given the current state of the economy, it’s certainly possible. If you’re a fan of Lowe’s, you may want to start shopping there now before it’s too late.
