Is USPS responsible for lost packages?

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is responsible for the delivery of packages through the mail. However, there are instances where packages can be lost in the mail. In order to help protect packages from being lost, USPS has implemented several safety measures, including providing tracking information for all packages.

Additionally, USPS has a policy in place where it will refund the customer for any package that is lost in the mail. While USPS cannot guarantee that every package will be delivered, it does take a number of steps to ensure that packages are delivered safely.
