Is Walmart neighborhood market more expensive than Walmart?

In recent years, Walmart has been working hard to rebrand itself as a more upscale retailer. One way it has tried to do this is by opening smaller, more convenient Neighborhood Market stores. But are these stores actually more expensive than the massive Walmart Supercenters?

To find out, we compared prices on a basket of goods at a Walmart Supercenter and a Neighborhood Market in the same city. Overall, we found that the Neighborhood Market was about 3% more expensive than the Supercenter. However, there were some items that were significantly cheaper at the Neighborhood Market, including produce and meat.

So if you’re looking for the best deal at Walmart, it depends on what you’re buying. For everyday household items, you’re likely to get a better price at the Supercenter. But for fresh food and other perishables, the Neighborhood Market might be your best bet.

Conclusion:

Overall, the prices at Walmart’s Neighborhood Markets are slightly higher than at its Supercenters. However, there are some items that are significantly cheaper at the Neighborhood Market, including produce and meat.
