Who bought out Rite Aid drug stores?

Rite Aid Corporation completed the purchase of 1,977 stores from Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. in February. This purchase completed the company’s plan to divest itself of 1,200 stores, and creates a more vertically integrated pharmacy.

The new ownership will focus on the growth of Rite Aid’s pharmacy services and its pharmacy benefit management (PBM) capabilities. Walgreens Boots Alliance will continue to operate the stores.
