Big Lots, Inc. is an American retail company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The company was founded in 1967 as Consolidated Stores Corporation and changed its name to Big Lots in 1968, when it went public.
Big Lots is a discount retailer that sells closeout merchandise and salvage goods. The company has over 1,400 stores in 47 states.
In recent years, Big Lots has been on an aggressive expansion plan, opening new stores and acquiring other retailers. In 2015, the company acquired 156 stores from Pier 1 Imports.
In 2017, Big Lots acquired 120 former Toys “R” Us locations. And in 2018, the company acquired 34 stores from Gordmans.
So did Big Lots buy odd lots? It’s hard to say for sure, but given the company’s history of expansion through acquisitions, it’s likely that Big Lots has bought odd lots at some point in time.
