Rite Aid Corporation is the largest drugstore chain in the United States. In January of this year, the company announced that it had acquired Elixir Systems, a pharmacy software company.
Elixir Systems is a privately held company, and Rite Aid has not disclosed the terms of the deal.
According to reports, Rite Aid is planning to integrate Elixir Systems’ software into its existing pharmacy workflow. The company is also reportedly considering using Elixir Systems’ technology to build a new pharmacy software platform.
While Rite Aid has not publicly revealed whether Elixir Systems is owned by the company, the acquisition suggests that Elixir Systems is at least partly owned by Rite Aid. If this is the case, it would make Elixir Systems one of the largest privately held companies in the United States.
