Ready Player One is a 2017 science fiction action film directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Spielberg and Burkhard Fischler. The screenplay is by Zak Penn and Ernest Cline. It is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Cline. In the film, Wade Watts is a teenager who spends his days searching the internet for the Easter egg of the virtual world OASIS, which has the first ever real-life Easter egg.
When Wade’s father dies, he proposes to the CEO of the OASIS company, James Halliday, who has hidden an Easter egg inside the game. If anyone can find it, they win the game. When Wade’s friends and family find out, they set out to help him.
Ready Player One is an entertaining film that is full of references to pop culture from the 1980s and 1990s. The Easter egg hunt is a lot of fun, and the film is worth watching just for that.
However, Ready Player One is not currently available on Netflix or Amazon.
