Are boxes free at USPS?

In general, boxes at the United States Postal Service are not free. However, there are a few exceptions. For example, small boxes that fit into a flat-rate envelope are usually free.

Additionally, boxes that are over 100 pounds and that require special handling (such as international mail) are usually free. Finally, if you are a business and your boxes are being shipped out of the country, then you may be eligible for a discounted rate.
