Are Publix prices higher on Instacart?

There’s no doubt that Instacart has changed the grocery game. The app, which allows users to shop for groceries from their favorite stores online and have them delivered to their doorsteps, has been a godsend for busy urbanites and suburbanites alike. But there’s one downside to using Instacart: the prices.

While Instacart does offer competitive prices on many items, there are some items that are priced higher than what you would find in the store. This is especially true of items that are on sale or clearance at the store. For example, a recent search for “Publix” on Instacart yielded the following results:

Item Instacart Price Store Price
Organic Hass Avocados $2.50 each $1.50 each (on sale)
Organic Gala Apples $3.49 per lb $2.99 per lb (on sale)
Organic Baby Spinach $3.99 per lb $2.99 per lb (on sale)

As you can see, the prices for these items are significantly higher on Instacart than they are in the store. In some cases, the difference is as much as 50%. So if you’re looking to save money on your groceries, shopping in-store may be a better option than using Instacart.
