Big Lots, Inc. is an American retail company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The company was founded in 1967 as Consolidated Stores Corporation and changed its name to Big Lots in June 1976. Big Lots is a discount retailer with over 1,400 stores in 47 states. The company’s merchandise includes food, consumables, furniture, housewares, electronics, toys, and seasonal items.

In May 2019, Big Lots announced that it would be changing its name to BIG WOW following a strategic review of the company. The name change is intended to reflect the company’s focus on becoming a “wow” customer experience.
