Did Wendy’s get rid of the 4 for 4?

Wendy’s is an American international fast food restaurant chain founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. The company moved its headquarters to Dublin, Ohio, on January 29, 2006. As of December 31, 2018, Wendy’s was the world’s third largest hamburger fast-food chain with 6,711 locations, following Burger King and McDonald’s. On April 24, 2008, the company announced a merger with Triarc Companies Inc., a publicly traded company and the parent company of Arby’s.

Despite the new ownership, Wendy’s headquarters remained in Dublin. Following the merger, Triarc became known as Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, a publicly traded company. As of January 2, 2019, there were a total of 9,409 locations worldwide.

Wendy’s menu consists primarily of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads and Frosty milkshakes. Since phasing out their Super Value Menu in 2007, the restaurant has instead focused on its “Right Price Right Size” value menu which offers Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger Deluxe and other items for under $2.

In late 2017, Wendy’s introduced a new value menu called “4 for $4”. The 4 for $4 meal includes a junior bacon cheeseburger or chicken nuggets or chicken sandwich (crispy or spicy), small fries or side salad (w/ Caesar or ranch dressing), 4-piece chicken nuggets or small Frosty.

The 4 for $4 deal quickly became one of Wendy’s most successful promotions ever. In fact, it was so popular that other fast food chains such as McDonald’s and Burger King began offering similar deals.

However, in 2019 Wendy’s quietly discontinued the 4 for $4 deal and replaced it with a new $5 Biggie Bag. The Biggie Bag includes a double cheeseburger or 10-piece nuggets (crispy or spicy), small fries or side salad (w/ Caesar or ranch dressing), 4-piece chicken nuggets or small Frosty.

While the 4 for $4 deal was popular with customers, it seems that Wendy’s has discontinued the promotion in favor of their new $5 Biggie Bag.
