Does anyone actually win Albertsons Monopoly?

In 1938, the first board game that would later become known as Monopoly was introduced by Charles Darrow. The game was originally called “The Landlord’s Game” and was designed to teach players about the pitfalls of land-grabbing and monopolies. has since become one of the most popular board games in the world, with an estimated 250 million copies sold.

While the game is enjoyed by people of all ages, one group that takes Monopoly very seriously is those looking to cash in on the game’s grand prize: a $1 million check.

Every year, Hasbro, the company that now owns Monopoly, releases a limited number of game pieces with special codes that can be used to enter online for a chance to win the million-dollar prize. In order to win, players must collect two complete sets of these special Monopoly pieces.

So, does anyone actually win Monopoly? Yes! In fact, there have been several winners of the Monopoly Millionaire’s Club contest over the years.

The most recent winner was Cynthia Stafford of Los Angeles, who won in 2017 after collecting two complete sets of game pieces. Stafford wasn’t the only winner that year either; there were four other winners who each took home a $100,000 prize.

In 2016, there were three grand prize winners who each won $1 million. And in 2015, there was just one grand prize winner of $1 million.

So while it is possible to win Monopoly’s grand prize, it’s certainly not easy. The odds of winning are about 1 in 4.6 million for the grand prize and 1 in 700,000 for the $100,000 prizes. So while you may not want to bet your life savings on winning Monopoly, it’s still worth trying your luck!
