Burger King has been known for their $1 hamburgers since the 1970s. In 1977, they introduced the Whopper, which was their first $1 hamburger. In 2002, they introduced the $1 Double Whopper. In 2006, they introduced the $1 Whopper Jr. In 2009, they introduced the $1 Double Whopper Jr. In 2013, they introduced the $1 Whopper Meal.
All of these burgers are made with two Whoppers, and are served with a side of fries and a drink. According to The Huffington Post, “The $1 burgers, which have been a mainstay of the restaurant chain, account for about one-third of Burger King’s sales.” The Huffington Post also reports that “The $1 Whopper Meal, which includes a Whopper, small fries and a drink, has accounted for about one-fourth of Burger King’s global sales growth in the past two years.” Overall, it appears that Burger King is successful with their $1 hamburgers.
