Does Chick Fil A hire at 15?

In 2013, Chick Fil A announced that they would be hiring individuals aged 15 and older. The company stated that they wanted to “select young people who have a passion for food and service, and are eager to learn and grow in the restaurant industry”. Some believe that Chick Fil A’s decision to hire at such a young age is in response to McDonald’s decision to phase out its Happy Meal program.

Many argue that McDonald’s decision to no longer offer a Happy Meal as an incentive for children to eat at their restaurant led to a decrease in sales for the fast food giant. Chick Fil A has stated that they do not view their young staff as a replacement for the Happy Meal, but as a way to give their employees the opportunity to learn and grow in their career.

While it is difficult to say whether or not Chick Fil A’s young staff is successful in meeting the company’s goals, it is clear that they are given the opportunity to learn and grow. In addition, Chick Fil A has stated that their young staff members are a “force for good” in the community, and have helped to raise money for charity.
