Does Grubhub take 30 percent?

Grubhub has been in the food delivery business for over 20 years and has built a large platform of customers. Recently, Grubhub has been in the news for a different reason – they have been accused of taking 30 percent of the total order value from their customers.

The accusation is based on a study that was conducted by the research firm Trefis. Trefis analyzed data from 2,000 orders that were placed on Grubhub between Jan. 1, 2016 and Dec. 31, 2016.

The study found that the average order value was $14.53, but Grubhub took 31.2 percent of the total order value.

The conclusion of the study is that Grubhub takes an excessive amount of money from their customers. It is important to note that this study is not an indictment of Grubhub as a company – it is simply an analysis of their delivery service.

However, the accusations against Grubhub will likely continue until they provide a satisfactory explanation for their practices.
