Instacart is an online grocery delivery service that operates in Oregon. In 2018, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) ruled that Instacart is not allowed to deliver alcohol. This ruling is based on Instacart’s policy of not permitting its delivery employees to carry alcohol. This policy means that, if you order alcohol through Instacart, the delivery person will not be able to bring the wine, beer, or liquor to your door.
Rather, the delivery person will have to leave the alcohol at a store near you. If you live in a prohibition state, this policy may not be an issue for you. If you live in a state where alcohol delivery is allowed, then you may find the lack of alcohol delivery through Instacart inconvenient.
