Does T-Mobile use Verizon towers?

In 2002, the two telecommunications companies merged and formed T-Mobile US, now the third largest wireless carrier in the United States. The company has long been rumoured to use Verizon towers, as they are two of the largest wireless carriers in the country.

However, T-Mobile has never confirmed this and has instead pointed to its extensive network coverage as evidence. In 2013, T-Mobile announced that it would begin to phase out its reliance on Verizon towers and instead rely on its own network of towers and infrastructure.
