Does Trader Joe’s exist in Texas?

In recent years, the grocery store known as Trader Joe’s has been expanding rapidly across the United States. Many people are unaware that this store originated in California.

Some may be surprised to learn that there are currently no Trader Joe’s locations in the state of Texas.

Trader Joe’s first opened its doors in 1967 in Pasadena, California. The store was founded by Joe Coulombe, and it was originally called Pronto Market.

The store initially sold convenience items and quickly became popular with college students and young professionals. In 1969, the name was changed to Trader Joe’s and the focus shifted to selling unique, hard-to-find items from around the world.

The first out-of-state Trader Joe’s opened in 1972 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since then, the chain has expanded to 43 states and Washington D.C. There are currently no plans to open any Trader Joe’s locations in Texas.

Some people speculate that this is because the state already has a large number of grocery stores. Others believe that the company is simply not interested in expanding into Texas at this time.

So does Trader Joe’s exist in Texas? No, not yet – but who knows what the future may hold?
