Does USPS charge for return to sender?

Mail returned to sender (RTS) is a service offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS) that allows customers to have mail delivered to their home or business instead of to the post office. Customers must complete an RTS request form and provide proof of postage. The USPS will then process the request and mail the mail to the customer’s address.

There is no charge for RTS service. However, there may be charges for returning the mail to the post office.
