Wendy’s is a chain of fast food restaurants founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. The company has more than 6,500 locations. As of 2018, Wendy’s was the world’s third largest hamburger chain with approximately $1.7 billion in annual revenue, following Burger King and McDonald’s.
Their signature items include their square-shaped hamburgers often referred to as “Old-Fashioned Hamburgers”, Frosty milkshakes, and sea salt fries.
Wendy’s uses square hamburger patties – which hang over the edge of a round bun – as its trademark item.
The restaurant is known for its advertising jingle “Where’s the Beef? “, which was introduced in 1984. Since 1989, Wendy’s has been a primary sponsor for NASCAR teams such as Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing.
