If you’re traveling with American Airlines, you may be eligible for a free checked bag. Generally, passengers who have purchased a ticket and are traveling with a companion are eligible for a free checked bag. If you’re not traveling with a companion, you may be eligible for a free checked bag if you have purchased a ticket that includes at least one roundtrip travel segment and you are traveling within the U.S. The free checked bag offer is not applicable to tickets that include international travel.
