UPS batteries are designed to last about 10 years. If your UPS battery is less than a year old, it may need to be replaced. To determine if your UPS battery is bad, you can do the following:
1. Check the battery’s voltage. A healthy UPS battery will have a voltage of approximately 12.6 volts.
If the voltage is lower than 12.6 volts, the battery may be dead or needs to be replaced.
2. Check the battery’s amp hours.
A healthy UPS battery will have a capacity of at least 50 amp hours. If the battery has fewer than 50 amp hours, it may be dead or needs to be replaced.
3. Check the battery’s serial number.
If the battery has a serial number, it can be checked against the UPS’s database to determine if the battery has been previously replaced.
If your UPS battery is bad, it needs to be replaced.
