When it comes to gravy, KFC doesn’t shy away from a little bit of mystery. In a recent interview with The Courier-Journal, the chicken chain’s president and COO, Andy Puzder, admitted that the gravy is actually made with a base of flour, water, and chicken broth.
Interestingly, Puzder also claimed that the gravy is “not that different” from the chicken itself.
Despite Puzder’s claims, some do believe that the gravy is particularly unique and delicious. One fan of the chain even claimed that the gravy is “better than mother’s.
” Interestingly, KFC doesn’t seem to be one of those restaurants that keeps their gravy recipe a tightly guarded secret. In fact, they’ve even released a few recipe videos on their website.
While KFC’s gravy may not be as complex as some other restaurant’s, it’s still a tasty addition to any chicken meal. And at only 99 cents per cup, it’s a pretty economical way to enjoy the dish, too.
