Is Hobby Lobby cheaper than Michaels?

Hobby Lobby and Michaels are two of the most popular craft stores in the United States. Both stores offer a wide variety of supplies for a variety of different crafts. But which store is cheaper?

To compare the prices of the two stores, we looked at the cost of several items:

  • A 12-pack of Crayola crayons
  • A 4-pack of Sharpie markers
  • A spool of black thread
  • A skein of red yarn
  • A 5×7 inch frame
  • A pack of construction paper
  • A glue stick

The Results:

Overall, we found that Michaels is cheaper than Hobby Lobby. On average, Michaels was about 17% cheaper than Hobby Lobby.

Sharpie Markers – Michaels: $3.49 vs Hobby Lobby: $3.99

Black Thread – Michaels: $0.99 vs Hobby Lobby: $1.09

Construction Paper – Michaels: $0.29
