Is it OK to do push-ups every day?

When it comes to exercise, the more, the better. But that doesn’t mean you have to do push-UPS every day to get results.

“Push-UPS are a great exercise for the chest, triceps, and shoulders, but they are not the only exercise you need to perform in order to achieve good fitness,” says registered dietitian Brooke Alpert, MS, RD. “You should also incorporate strength training, cardio, and balance-training into your routine to maximize your results.”.

While push-UPS are a great exercise, there are other possibilities that can still give you the same results, without leaving you feeling like you’re doing endless sets of push-UPS. “You can substitute push-UPS with various other exercises, such as bench presses, chest presses, lunges, squats, and crunches,” Alpert says.

“You’ll still get the benefits of muscle strengthening, cardio, and balance-training.

So, while it’s definitely okay to do push-UPS every day, you don’t have to if you don’t want to. “Just make sure you’re including other exercises that will give you the same results, and you’ll be on your way to a healthier body.”.
