Lidl, the German-based discount grocery store, is expanding its United States presence and could be coming to Warminster, Pennsylvania. The company is currently finalizing leases in Warminster and other Philadelphia suburbs, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Lidl first entered the United States market in 2017, when it opened stores in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. The company has since expanded to more than 50 locations on the East Coast.
Lidl’s expansion into Pennsylvania would put it in competition with another German-based discount grocery store, Aldi. Aldi has had a presence in Pennsylvania since 1976 and currently has more than 80 locations in the state.
The Warminster store would be Lidl’s first location in Bucks County. The company is also reportedly looking at sites in Montgomery County.
It is not yet known when Lidl would open its Warminster store if the lease is finalized.
There is no word yet on whether Lidl is coming to Warminster, Pennsylvania but the German-based discount grocery store is expanding its United States presence and could be coming to Warminster soon.
