Lidl’s gin has been getting a lot of attention lately. It was even named the best budget gin by The Guardian! But is it really any good?
We decided to put it to the test and see for ourselves. We started by making a classic G&T, using Lidl’s London Dry Gin and Schweppes Indian Tonic Water.
The gin is nice and juniper-forward, with a slightly floral aroma. The taste is smooth and slightly sweet, with a good balance of botanicals. The finish is clean and crisp, making it a very refreshing drink.
We also tried making a Negroni with Lidl’s gin, and it was delicious! The gin’s botanical flavors paired perfectly with the bitter sweetness of the Campari and the vermouth.
