Is McDonald’s doing anything for Teacher Appreciation Week?

McDonald’s released a statement in support of Teacher Appreciation Week, which is taking place from May 5-11. The company is encouraging customers to show their appreciation for educators by sharing photos and stories on social media using the hashtag #TeacherAppreciation.

In addition, McDonald’s is giving away free food to teachers during the week.

While McDonald’s statement is commendable, the company’s food giveaway is limited in scope and does not provide a significant financial incentive for teachers. It is important that companies support teacher appreciation efforts in a meaningful way, and McDonald’s falls short in this regard.
