Publix, a Florida-based grocery chain, is expanding its footprint in the Carolinas. The company recently announced it would open its first store in South Carolina in 2019, and now it appears they may be coming to Brevard, North Carolina as well.
This speculation comes from a recent job posting on the company’s website seeking a real estate manager for the Asheville, NC area. The job description says the successful candidate will be responsible for “the planning, development and execution of Publix’s real estate strategy” in Western North Carolina.
While this is far from an official announcement, it does suggest that Publix is at least considering expanding into Brevard. This would be good news for residents who are looking for another grocery option in the area. Publix is known for its wide selection of items, competitive prices, and excellent customer service.
