On April 24, 2008, the company announced a merger with Triarc Companies Inc., a publicly traded company and the parent company of Arby’s. In 2018, QSR magazine ranked Wendy’s as the second most popular fast food restaurant in America with an 18 percent brand equity.

Wendy’s is known for its square hamburgers, sea salt fries and Frosty desserts. Since inception, Wendy’s has used fresh beef that is never frozen in its hamburgers.
