What does AutoZone check for free?

AutoZone is the largest retailer of automotive parts and accessories in the United States. Founded in 1979, AutoZone has over 6,000 stores across the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.

AutoZone is known for their “Free Check Engine Light” service. When a customer’s check engine light comes on, they can bring their car into an AutoZone store and have a code reader connected to their car’s computer.

The code reader will pull up any error codes that the car’s computer has stored. AutoZone employees can then look up what the error codes mean and give the customer advice on what to do next.

In addition to their “Free Check Engine Light” service, AutoZone also offers free battery testing and installation, wiper blade installation, headlight testing, and oil recycling.
