What is Kroger recalling?

Kroger is recalling select brands of refrigerated pizzas because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The pizzas being recalled are:

-The Kroger brand, “Grandma’s Cheese Pizza”
-The Kroger brand, “Pizza Hut Supreme”
-The Kroger brand, “Pepperoni Pizza”
-The Kroger brand, “Hawaiian Pizza”

Kroger is notifying the public that the pizzas may have been contaminated during the manufacturing process. Anyone who has purchased any of the recalled pizzas is urged to return them to their nearest store for a full refund.

No other products are involved in this recall.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause severe listeriosis, which is a serious and potentially fatal infection. Symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, sweating, and diarrhea.

If left untreated, listeriosis can lead to death.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning about Listeria monocytogenes and recalls of food products. The CDC advises people to wash their hands often, avoid close contact with people who are sick, and cook food thoroughly.
