Where is the oldest Taco Bell located?

Taco Bell, Inc. was founded in 1962 in Downey, California by Glen Bell and his wife, Debbi. The company’s first restaurant was called “Taco Tico” and it was located in a drive-in restaurant. Glen Bell is credited with the popularization of the Taco Bell burrito.

In 1965, Taco Bell opened its first franchise. In late 1990, Taco Bell opened its first international restaurant in Canada. The company has since expanded internationally, and as of 2016, had over 6,000 restaurants worldwide. The oldest Taco Bell location is in Downey, California.
