Who bought out Family Dollar?

Family Dollar, a discount retailer, announced that it had been purchased by private equity firm Bain Capital in February of 2015. The company, with over 1,600 stores in the United States, had been struggling financially for some time. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Bain Capital is a private equity firm that specializes in buying, restructuring, and selling companies. The company said it plans to keep the Family Dollar stores open, but does not have any immediate plans to make changes to the chain’s operations.
