Who owns TCC Verizon?

In 2007, TCC merged with Verizon. TCC now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Verizon. This means that TCC does not independently own its own facilities, infrastructure, or patents. Instead, Verizon owns all of these assets.

This has some important implications for TCC’s competitive position. For example, if TCC were to launch a new service that competed with Verizon, Verizon would be able to shut down TCC’s service without due process.

This situation is not unique to TCC. Many technology companies are owned by larger companies with a lot of power. This can have negative consequences for innovation and competition.

For example, Google has been criticized for not being open about its ownership structure. This has led to accusations that Google is using its dominant position to unfairly compete with other companies.
