Why are there no Chick-fil-A in Massachusetts?

The Chick-Fil-A restaurant chain is not currently operational in Massachusetts. The restaurant chain was founded in 1946 in Atlanta, Georgia, and has since spread to over 1,600 locations in 39 U.S. states as well as in more than 25 other countries.

In Massachusetts, Chick-Fil-A has been blocked by the state’s anti-discrimination laws from opening a restaurant due to the company’s religious beliefs. Chick-Fil-A has stated that it would like to open a restaurant in Massachusetts but the laws prohibiting discrimination have made it difficult.
