DoorDash is a delivery service that allows customers to order food from restaurants and get it delivered to their door. Customers can order food from restaurants that are partnered with DoorDash, or they can order from restaurants that DoorDash has not partnered with.
DoorDash charges customers 9.99 for delivery.
This charge is added to the bill of the customer’s chosen restaurant. DoorDash does not charge delivery fees for orders that are placed through its partner restaurants.
DoorDash has been in business since 2013. In 2017, DoorDash was sued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for allegedly violating the Food Security Act of 2008.
The lawsuit was dismissed in 2018.
In 2018, DoorDash settled a lawsuit with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for $2 million. The lawsuit alleged that DoorDash employees were not allowed to unionize.
