Why is KFC Christmas in Japan?

KFC first opened in Japan in 1984, and remains one of the country’s most popular fast food chains. For Christmas, the chain offers a limited number of menu items that are all specially designed for the holiday season. These include a variety of Christmas-themed chicken items such as a Christmas chicken sandwich, chicken tenders with gravy, and a Christmas dinner plate that includes mashed potatoes, green beans, and a piece of chicken.

Customers can also order a Christmas drink such as a Mulled Wine KFC option. In addition to the main menu items, KFC also offers a variety of Christmas-themed desserts, including a KFC Christmas pie, a KFC Christmas cake, and a KFC Christmas pudding.
