Can 15 year olds work at Dairy Queen?

In most states, it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to work in a fast food restaurant. However, there are a select few states that allow minors to work in fast food restaurants with the permission of a parent or guardian.

So, can 15 year olds work at Dairy Queen? In most cases, no. Dairy Queen is an exception to this rule because they are a franchised restaurant.

This means that the parent company, DQ Corporation, authorizes the franchise to hire and fire employees. In order for a 15 year old to work at Dairy Queen, they would need to get permission from the franchise owner.

Even if a 15 year old is able to get permission from the franchise owner, they would still need to meet the minimum age requirement of 16 years old to work in a fast food restaurant. This means that the 15 year old would need to be at least 16 years old on the day that they start working, and they would need to have a valid drivers license.

With all of these requirements, it is unlikely that a 15 year old would be able to work at Dairy Queen.
