Did Wendy’s get rid of side salads?

Wendy’s is an American international fast food restaurant chain founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. The company moved its headquarters to Dublin, Ohio, on January 29, 2006.

As of 2016, Wendy’s was the world’s third largest hamburger fast-food chain with 6,650 locations, following Burger King’s 15,243 locations and McDonald’s’ 36,615 locations. On April 24, 2008, the company announced a merger with Triarc Companies Inc., a publicly traded company and the parent company of Arby’s. Despite the new ownership, Wendy’s headquarters remained in Dublin.

Wendy’s menu consists primarily of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, French fries and soft drinks. Since phasing out their signature “Big Classic”, the chain has not had a signature sandwich since 2008. Wendy’s uses square hamburger patties – which it calls “Fresh Made Burgers” – as opposed to round ones; the square patties have corners that stick out so that customers can see freshness of the meat.

In March 2011, Wendy’s introduced a new logo that was first used on television commercials. The new logo received mixed reviews from consumers and graphic designers alike. The new logo made its debut on Wendy’s redesigned website in June 2012.

In May 2013, Wendy’s announced that it would introduce a new line of salads made with spring mix greens. The salads were available in four varieties: Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, Asian Cashew Chicken Salad, BLT Cobb Salad, and Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad. On September 3, 2013, Wendy’s removed side salads from their national menu. A spokeswoman for the company said that customer demand for salads had not been high enough to justify keeping them on the menu year-round.
