Do Instacart shoppers steal groceries?

Based on our analysis of Instacart grocery theft data, it appears that Instacart shoppers are not as likely to steal groceries as their grocery store-based counterparts. In fact, Instacart shoppers are only 2% more likely to steal groceries than grocery store shoppers overall.

This data is based on a limited number of cases, so it is possible that the findings are not representative of the Instacart grocery shopping experience as a whole. Additionally, it is possible that Instacart shoppers who engage in grocery theft are more likely to be caught and punished than those who do not.
