Does Albertsons own United Supermarkets?

Albertsons is an American grocery chain that was founded in 1939. In 2015, it merged with Safeway, another large grocery chain. As of 2019, Albertsons operates 2,252 stores across the United States.

In September of 2019, Albertsons made an offer to buy United Supermarkets, a Texas-based grocery chain. If the deal goes through, it would make Albertsons the third largest grocery chain in the United States.

Albertsons has been trying to expand its reach in recent years. In 2018, it bought a majority stake in Plated, a meal-kit company. It has also been investing in technology, such as self-checkout kiosks and home delivery.

The deal with United Supermarkets is not yet finalized, and it is not clear if it will go through. If it does, it would be a major expansion for Albertsons.
