Does Best Buy recycle old CDs?

At Best Buy, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. One way we do this is by recycling old CDs. We have a special process for recycling CDs that ensures they are properly recycled and do not end up in landfills.

When a customer brings in an old CD, we first check to see if it can be reused. If the CD is in good condition, we clean it and put it back on the shelf for sale. If the CD is scratched or otherwise damaged, we send it to our recycling partner, e-Cycle.

e-Cycle is a certified electronics recycler. They recycle old CDs by breaking them down into their component parts.

The plastic and metal are separated and recycled into new products. The information on the CD is destroyed so that it can not be accessed or reused.

By recycling old CDs, we are able to keep them out of landfills and reduce our environmental impact. We are also able to give customers the option to reuse their CDs instead of throwing them away.
