Does TJ Maxx hold your first paycheck?

Do you love shopping at TJ Maxx but hate waiting for your paycheck to clear before you can take home your new purchases? If so, you’ll be happy to know that TJ Maxx does hold your first paycheck!

Here’s how it works: when you start your first job, you’ll likely be given a direct deposit form. This form will have a section for you to fill out your bank information. Once you’ve completed the form and given it to your employer, your paycheck will be deposited into your account on payday.

However, if you don’t have a bank account, or if you don’t want to wait for your paycheck to clear, TJ Maxx can hold your check for you. All you need to do is ask the cashier to hold your check when you’re checking out. They’ll give you a slip of paper that you’ll need to present to the customer service desk when you’re ready to pick up your check.

There are a few things to keep in mind if you choose to have TJ Maxx hold your check. First, they can only hold checks for up to two days.

So if you’re not able to pick up your check within that time frame, it will be returned to your employer. Second, there is a $5 fee for this service. And finally, if you have multiple checks being held, each one will incur the $5 fee.

Even though there is a fee associated with having TJ Maxx hold your check, it can still be worth it if you need access to the money right away and don’t have a bank account. Just keep in mind the limitations of this service so that you can plan accordingly.
