When a package arrives at a USPS distribution center, it may be in one of the following states:
– In Transit
– Ready for Pickup
– In Processing
– Out of Processing
After the package is picked up by a USPS employee, it will be transported to one of the USPS processing centers. The processing time for a package can vary, but on average, it will stay in the processing center for approximately 24-48 hours. After the package is processed, it will be moved to one of the USPS distribution centers.
The distribution center will hold the package for a maximum of five days. On average, a package will stay at the distribution center for three days.
