Jewel-Osco is a chain of Supermarkets in the United States, with locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. It is a subsidiary of Albertsons.
Jewel-Osco was founded in 1899 as a small grocery store in Chicago, Illinois. The company has grown significantly since then, and now has over 185 stores across the Midwest.
Jewel-Osco is known for its wide selection of food and household items, as well as its pharmacy and gas station services.
While Jewel-Osco is its own company, it is a subsidiary of Albertsons. Albertsons is a large grocery store chain with over 2,200 locations across the United States.
The company also owns other supermarket chains, such as Safeway and Vons. Albertsons acquired Jewel-Osco in 1998 from American Stores Company.
