Is KFC Korean fried chicken?

KFC is not Korean fried chicken. The Colonel’s original recipe did not contain any Korean spices, and the dish was not popularized in Korea until the 1990s.

Today, KFC’s fried chicken is typically made with a blend of spices, including salt, pepper, and a little bit of sugar. It’s also not always fried in oil, as KFC’s version is typically coated in a breadcrumb mixture and then fried.
